I have a game I made which I started working on in godot 4.1 and now I wish to switch to godot 4.2, however, when I open the project in godot 4.2, I get the message "This project was last edited in godot 4.1. Opening it will change it to godot 4.2. Open anyway? Project will be modified." I select yes, then godot just crashes and in the console I don't see any errors. Could it have anything to do with the fact that I am using an addon (godot jolt)? Has this happened to anyone else?
cant open godot project in 4.2

Street Could be possible. Did you try deleting your .godot directory?
thanks for the answer. after I deleted the .godot directory godot did not crash, but it said "some extensions need the editor to restart to take effect" and after I select restart it crashes (and then continues to crash if I open it again until I delete the .godot folder again). so it appears that the extension is in fact the issue. I guess I'll just wait until a new godot-jolt version comes out which is compatible with godot 4.2
The project manager mentioned the godot-jolt issue here:
...that's a known issue, you need to update it or remove it before moving to Godot 4.2, as it's older version is not compatible and crashes.
