I was wondering if anyone here has used Godot to develop games for VR platforms, either PC or Quest 2? Is Godot a viable engine for this kind of game? Currently I am a game design major and I want to make games in VR and would rather not use Unity or Unreal.

A quick search on the tags allows you to find it. I definitely remember that there was another big discussion on this topic, but… with not a very appropriate title and apparently missing the right tags… if I find it, I'll share the link.

As far as I understand, Godot 4 has heavily redesigned VR. So you can be the first in this case!

Up. Here's a little bit about VR.

I will keep this in mind! And, yes, I have dabbled in VR with Quest 2. It seems to work just fine. It might take a bit to grasp everything, but I was able to make a simple scene with a room and a VR player that could pick up objects.

VR is supported through OpenXR and many popular devices are supported (that have OpenXR drivers/interfaces).
