I try to create simple user login and registration page. But I cannot create user using services method. I have a service for creating new user.

I call registerNewUserAccount(UserDto userDto) method at 2 places.

  1. At startup, I call this method for creating initial users.

Then all works normally. But when I call this method from controller for creating new user using registration form, registerNewUserAccount(UserDto userDto) method does not work. I call it from controller like following:

I debugged it. The command userService.test(); passed, but at registerNewUserAccount(UserDto userDto) command thrown the following exception

I added exclude = HibernateJpaAutoConfiguration.class property to @SpringBootApplication annotation as recomended at https://stackoverflow.com/a/38637273 and all worked normally. But I cannot relatrion problem and solution. And I don't not know why registerNewUserAccount(UserDto userDto) method works at one place and doesn't work at different place.

Thanks! This solution worked for me too. My inference is, this has to do with some conflict happening due to the presence of auto configuration done bye HibernateJpaAutoConfiguration and Hibernate configuration done by the rest of the settings (for e.x. XML or Java configurations). So, once we ask Spring to ignore HibernateJpaAutoConfiguration everything's hunky-dory since there's no conflict anymore. – Stacy
however setting spring.jpa.open-in-view=false solved the problem for me too – Iraqi

In my case I used Spring's @Transaction annotation, though in the method hibernate session was already used. That's why the compiler got confused which transaction should it use, this was the cause to get the error.

So use only one transaction whether creating multiple transaction at a time.
