Question

i guess this is a xml parsing problem, but I just cannot see where it is. I read some articles about this topic and nothing helped:

i have this spring mvc config:

In your schema location change springframework.org/schema/mvc/spring-mvc-4.0.xsd in springframework.org/schema/mvc/spring-mvc.xsd – Nyctophobia

Try to remove all versions from schemaLocation. For example, http://www.springframework.org/schema/mvc/spring-mvc-4.0.xsd will be changes to http://www.springframework.org/schema/mvc/spring-mvc.xsd – Bondholder

Your schema declarations is wrong, you have a http://www.springframework.org/schema/security in there with no xsd this messes up your namespace declarations. – Scrabble

If you look at your schema locations you will notice the line containing http://www.springframework.org/schema/security.

This line breaks the expected format, the format should be [namespace] [xsd-location]. This line basically is messing up a proper format. To solve this either add a xsd location or remove the line. To prevent this I generaly follow the format also in the layout of the xsi:schemaLocation attribute (if you format accordingly it is quite apparent that that part is missing)..

As an additional tip it is recommended to use the versionless xsd files so instead of spring-beans-4.0.xsd use spring-beans.xsd.

The generic answer for such kind of error is you need to properly check the namespace specified, especially in "xsi:schemaLocation".

For those who are still getting the error even after trying all the things. What I did is uncheck Download Artifact Javadoc in Preferences -> Maven. And check it again. This disappeared the error in my case
