Maven: package com.sun.istack.internal does not exist

Question

I have little maven project that uses com.sun.istack.internal.Nullable.
I tried both JDK 9 and 1.8, and still get error about package does not exists. I search for the package and find some: https://mvnrepository.com/search?q=+com.sun.istack but they still not supply necessary one.

The JAVA_HOME:

“but they still not supply necessary one”… and they never will. Guess why the package name com.sun.istack.internal ends with internal. – Operatic

Try import import org.jetbrains.annotations.Nullable instead. It has the same you need for @Nullable annotation.

Then add this dependency:

Had the same issue with @NotNull, import org.jetbrains.annotations.NotNull did the trick – Fresco

That one was for internal use – Lactic

@Lactic I have been using it in my test case, but I did a few changes and only after that, it started throwing errors. I think this "That one was for internal use" is not the case – Mercia

In my case, I had the problem because I have updated the Spring started parent to 3.X.X version and Java version 17. In this case, I resolved using jakarta.validation.constraints.NotNull
