Recover file deleted from winSshFS directory via Sublime Text 3.0?

I just hit "delete folder" by mistake while I was trying to rename a file in Sublime Text 3.0. It seems that it's gone forever. Is there any desperate way of recovering that file?

  • I was working on winSshFS directly local, no GitHub.
  • It is not in my Recycle Bin

In normal circumstances, Sublime deletes stuff to the Recycle Bin / Trash / Rubbish Bin / whatever your OS's equivalent is. Apparently (per various forum posts and similar that I haven't fact checked) it uses the Python package Send2Trash under the hood for this, so if you want to read the underlying logic that's probably where to look. Of course, this asker's circumstances aren't normal - it sounds like he was using winSshFs to mount a directory from a remote server? No idea what happens then. I'll change the title to reflect that this question is NOT about the typical scenario.Cerebrospinal
I've tweaked the title to mention "winSshFS", since that's what the question body says the asker used. But I can find no evidence that such a tool even exists! There are three Windows versions of sshfs that I can find - called sshfs-win, win-sshfs, and WinSshFS 4every1 - but I note that none of these uses the camel-case name "winSshFS" anywhere. I'm inclined to close this question since it is essentially asking about Sublime's interaction with another tool without actually identifying what that tool is, so even someone willing to experiment and dig into the code can't possibly answer.Cerebrospinal
