I keep getting this error pop up in a window in Unity, whether at start up, saving, or in general use:

Resizing file C:/Users/Public/Documents/Unity Projects/ProjectName/Temp/tempFile failed: The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open.

What do I do?

Try closing Unity and renaming that file?

I also get this and am looking for an answer. My project is an SVN repo (windows with Tortoise), do you think perhaps tortoise could have the file open?

Somewhat

Have you enabled external version system support?

Try deleting that file as it seems to be in the `Temp` directory, whose files are generally 'expendable' ;)

If that does not work, try Assets -> Reimport Assets, or delete everything in the project folder except `Assets` and `Library`.

I got this working by turning off my active anti virus software.

I DONT CARE IF THIS IS 14 YEARS OLD MAYBE IT WILL HELP SOMEONE

How to fix:

Reloading the project should make unity recreate the file and unlock it from the system. This is a temporary fix so you might have to repeat this many more times in the future.
