Is here any way to merge 2 or more autotiles act as one? I've asked it before for 3.x version:

Timtima this is not quiet what required. Drawing on top of terrain with regular(different tile) simply pasted selected tile without autotile, erasing tile erased without autotile too.

I assume there is no way to merge 2 or more terrains act as one in current state of engine.

I believe it is out-of-the-box feature with the new autotile system:

  1. Draw the autotile as normal (as in -- create the terrain with the autotile, and draw on the tilemap with the terrain tab selected)
  2. Switch into the regular tile mode, and erase parts of the terrain. Or instead of the eraser, use whatever tiles from the autotile blob you need. When not in terrain mode, the editor will not update the autotiles.

Two problems, though:

  1. Should be very careful not to draw terrain next to the cut off parts, or else it will update the tiles to no longer be cut off.
  2. Godot crashed on me four times as I was running the experiments.
