I have tried changing my master db user password format to mysql native password. But it is not helping. What should I do to get through this problem?

caching_sha2_password requires SSL for communication. dev.classmethod.jp/articles/… use default plugin mysql_native_password if you are not using SSL .Eaglewood

Since MySQL Server 8.0.11

caching_sha2_password

is used as the default authentication method. Still, you can use the plugin

mysql_native_password

to log in with the old method.

In did mysql replication databases master / slave. I also had a mistake and I ignored it for a while, like this

CHANGE MASTER TO GET_MASTER_PUBLIC_KEY=1;

As written in the other answers use GET_MASTER_PUBLIC_KEY=1. Full connect string is:

CHANGE REPLICATION SOURCE TO
SOURCE_HOST='master_ip_number',
SOURCE_USER='replica_user',
SOURCE_PASSWORD='p4zzw0rd',
SOURCE_LOG_FILE='binlog.000007',
SOURCE_LOG_POS=7777,
GET_MASTER_PUBLIC_KEY=1;

The SOURCE_LOG_FILE and SOURCE_LOG_POS you will get from the master with the command:

SHOW MASTER STATUS;

On newer versions works this way (GET_SOURCE_PUBLIC_KEY=1;) ie: CHANGE REPLICATION SOURCE TO SOURCE_HOST='master_ip_number', SOURCE_USER='replica_user', SOURCE_PASSWORD='p4zzw0rd', SOURCE_LOG_FILE='binlog.000007', SOURCE_LOG_POS=7777, GET_SOURCE_PUBLIC_KEY=1;Stowell

In MySQL 8.4+: GET_SOURCE_PUBLIC_KEY

SOURCE_HOST='master_ip_number',
SOURCE_USER='replica_user',
SOURCE_PASSWORD='p4zzw0rd',
SOURCE_LOG_FILE='binlog.000007',
SOURCE_LOG_POS=700,
GET_SOURCE_PUBLIC_KEY=1;```

reason: caching_sha2_password must use ssl mode, but {--ssl-mode} disable ssl mode.

resolve: change {--ssl-mode} from {DISABLED} to {REQUIRED} mysql -hsqlip --ssl-mode=REQUIRED -utest -p123
